Top 35 Mistakes Danes Make in English A Fun Guide to Small but Significant Errors (Audible Audio Edition) Kay Xander Mellish KXMGroup Books Reviews
Kay Mellish has once again outdone herself. I am an Expat living in Denmark; and this book actually helps me with the misunderstandings that occur because of the differences in our language and culture. She explores these differences with kindness and humor that makes this a truly enjoyable read. You don't have to be a Dane to appreciate this book!
This audio-book contained a lot of very insightful tips, was easy to digest, and was enjoyable to listen to because of it's good, light humor. The hypothetical examples presented are clear and illustrative. Very informative!
Some of 35 mistakes that Danes make in English are interesting - for instance, many Danes tend to translate the Danish word "privatøkonomi" into English as "private economy" instead of "personal finances" - but the current price of this book is very steep considering that most of the alleged 80 pages of the book are blank or taken up by illustrations that don't actually illustrate anything, but are only there to mask the fact that you don't get very much text for your money. A price of two or three US dollars for a book like this is acceptable.
Until the price is lowered considerably, I recommend that you go to the writer's website and read the top 10 mistakes and find the rest in an ordinary book of English grammar for Danes [...]
I loved it. Very insightful. Humorous too. And here i am. Wondering if "dane" should be spelled with a capital D or not 😁
I got wiser, but nothing fundamental has changed.
